However, this device is not only where you can take a dip and cool off your head; in fact, there are activities that can make your time soaking in it more enjoyable. Read on to learn about them.

Tug of War

  • Split the family into two groups.
  • Have each team stand on a side of the pool.
  • Bring out a rope.
  • When both groups have a firm hold of the rope - pull!

As a twist to this old-fashioned contest, the losing team will be decided by the first one that ends up splashing in the water.

Sponge Tossing

  • Blow up two inflatable pools and prepare 20 small sponges.
  • Place the pools at least 10 feet apart (farther if there are adults and older kids joining the game).
  • Fill the containers with water then place 10 sponges on each.
  • Split the family into two teams and both will get inside their respective inflatables.
  • Pick the sponges and at the blow of the whistle, throw them into the opponent's pool.

Now, the objective of the game is to get rid of the sponges within five minutes. The group with the fewest in their pool wins. And yes, you can throw them at the players of the opposing team.

Magnetic Fishing

  • Take 20 plastic Easter eggs and fill each with a strong magnet.
  • Put them in an inflatable pool.
  • Create a makeshift fishing rod using a wooden stick with a string attached to one end.
  • Attach a magnet at the end of the string.
  • Start fishing!

Ideally, this is a competition for young children (although adults are welcome to try!). Now, the objective of the activity is to catch the most eggs in a given time frame. Once the time runs out, the kid with the most catch wins.
